About the role

Marketing Manager

Summary

Are you someone who sees a blank canvas and gets excited rather than overwhelmed? Do you have a knack for turning a half-formed idea into a compelling story, and the organisational superpower to actually make it happen? Are you the kind of person who reads a brief, thinks “there’s a better way”, and then goes and finds it?

We’re looking for a Marketing Manager to join the Camino team and help us shape the way we show up in the world. This is a role with real scope and real responsibility, but it comes with a catch: we haven’t written the full playbook yet. That’s where you come in.

You'll own our brand presence across channels – from social media and content to industry events and beyond – bringing fresh thinking and real creativity to everything we do. A key part of the role is Adventures in Pharma, our award-winning annual conference on AI in pharma, where you'll drive the full marketing campaign from delegate emails and LinkedIn outreach to speaker promotion and post-event content.

You’ll be working with a brilliant, passionate team of medical communications experts, helping us bring our work to life across congresses, social media, and beyond – whilst also bringing your own ideas o the table. If you thrive in an environment where you’rebuilding something, not just maintaining it, read on.

Key details
Salary: £40-50k depending on experience
Eligibility: UK citizen or resident with the right to work in the UK
Contract: Permanent
Benefits: Flexible and competitive package, to be discussed during interview
Start date: Currently October 2026, but with flexibility to start sooner for the  right person
Location: Primarily remote, with availability to travel within the UK and internationally
Hours: Full time, 36 hours Monday to Friday with flexible working practices. Other options may be possible; for discussion during recruitment process
More about the role
This isn’t a role where you’ll be handed a detailed job description and told to tick the boxes. You’ll be joining at an exciting moment for Camino and will play a key part in helping us define and execute our marketing strategy. That means plenty of variety, the chance to make a real impact and a fair amount of figuring things out as you go.

Day-to-day, you can expect to be working across:
  • Social media – owning our channels, developing content, and building our presence in the medical communications space

  • Adventures in Pharma – taking the lead on marketing and supporting ticket sales for our award-winning annual conference

  • Client and consumer projects – supporting the team on client-facing marketing initiatives, which may include consumer health campaigns where we're working directly with patient or public audiences

  • Tone of voice and brand writing – acting as a guardian of how Camino sounds, ensuring our voice is consistent, distinctive, and human across every touchpoint

  • Meetings and internal communications – supporting the team with materials and messaging that lands

  • Out-of-the-box campaigns – bringing fresh, creative ideas that go beyond the standard marketing playbook

  • Strategy – contributing to how we think about and grow Camino’s brand and market position

Experience and knowledge
  • A background in healthcare communications (whether in client services, medical writing, or another agency role) that gives you a feel for how the pharma and biotech world works

  • Or experience in a marketing role where you've built solid skills across social media, content, and campaigns, and you're now keen to bring those into the world of medical communications

  • Ideally both, but neither is a dealbreaker! We're most interested in finding the right person, and we'll back them to learn the rest

  • Experience running marketing campaigns for events or conferences (particularly email, social, and outreach) would be a strong advantage

About Camino
At Camino, our mantra is new adventures in medcomms. We combine science and strategy with award-winning AI and omnichannel innovation. Our adventurous approach will light new paths to guide your target audience on a journey of discovery. We partner with pharmaceutical and biotech companies of all sizes worldwide, applying fresh thinking, omnichannel expertise, and the power of AI to tackle both rare and common diseases with adventurous spirit.

We want to work in team where everyone enjoys what they do and is proud of what we deliver. The three key pillars of our culture are:
  • Learn every day

  • Change something

  • Grow together

We’re looking for motivated and inspiring people to join our team and help us achieve our vision.
Core responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver marketing activity across our key channels, including social media, events, and digital platforms

  • Plan and execute our presence at congresses and industry events, from pre-event promotion to post-event follow-up

  • Lead end-to-end marketing for Adventures in Pharma: write and send delegate emails, manage LinkedIn content and outreach, coordinate with speakers and sponsors, and ensure the event has a strong digital presence before, during, and after the day itself

  • Create and curate compelling content that captures what Camino does and why it matters

  • Work collaboratively across the team to surface insights, stories, and ideas that can fuel our marketing output, as well as supporting other members of the team to create marketing content in line with the overarching strategy

  • Support client marketing or social media projects where required, bringing the same creativity and rigour as you would to Camino's own channels

  • Champion our charity partnerships, helping partner organisations with their marketing — from content and social to campaigns and communications

  • Help shape and refine Camino’s marketing strategy – you’ll have a voice here, not just a to-do list

  • Stay on top of marketing trends, tools, and technologies, including AI, and find smart ways to apply them

  • Keep a close eye on what’s working (and what isn’t), tracking performance and continuously improving our approach

  • Bring creative solutions to the table – we want someone who challenges convention, not someone who just follows it

Attributes
  • A genuine self-starter (you don’t wait to be told what to do next, you figure it out and get on with it)

  • Highly organised with brilliant attention to detail; you can juggle multiple projects without dropping the ball

  • Naturally collaborative – you enjoy working with others and know how to draw out the best in a team

  • Creative and curious, with the confidence to pitch new ideas and the humility to refine them

  • A strong communicator who can adapt tone and style depending on the audience and content

  • Willing to trial and embrace technologies to execute and amplify the work you do, including AI tools, design programmes and social media management tools
